We hoped to kill to birds with one stone by looking for website/mobile app combo. The goal was to minimize the duplicate content sources, by reusing web content on the app if possible.
This seemed like a good idea at the time, but ended up being too much for us to take on as there were more moving parts to the mobile app than we expected.
Existing App Designs
Before picking out a specific vendor we were careful to consider existing designs from the list of companies offering church mobile apps.
Here’s major companies we found (# of apps in the iTunes store):
- thechurchapp.org (2748)
- sharefaith.com (960)
- customchurchapps.com (440)
- twenty28.co (30)
Once we narrowed down the companies we’d most likely have to work with, we looked at examples from each of the vendors.
